The Cereal Breeding Lab (CBL) at the University of Alberta, Canada, is currently inviting applications for one fully funded PhD position in the field of Wheat End-Use Quality Research. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to work at the cutting edge of biochemistry, cereal chemistry, and molecular genetics, with a focus on improving the functional and nutritional quality of wheat.

🧬 Project Overview:

The selected PhD student will contribute to a multidisciplinary project that investigates the biochemical and genetic underpinnings of wheat quality traits relevant to food processing and human nutrition. The work will combine wet-lab experimentation with advanced molecular techniques, quality trait phenotyping, and data analysis to identify key genes and mechanisms involved in end-use quality.

✅ Eligibility:

• Demonstrated experience in research, data analysis, or scientific writing is a strong asset.
