💡 About the Call:
The University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli has announced its 41st cycle PhD call for applications for admission to 18 PhD programs across Human and Social Sciences, Polytechnics and Basic Sciences, and Life Sciences. Each program spans three years and begins on 1 December 2025.

• Internationalisation of Legal Systems and Fundamental Rights
• Sciences of the Mind

🔹 Polytechnics and Basic Sciences
• Science and Engineering for the Environment and Sustainability
• Industrial and Information Engineering
• Mathematics, Physics and Engineering Applications
• Design for Made in Italy (National Interest Course)
• Technologies for Resilient Living Environments (Industrial PhD)
🔹 Life Sciences
• Translational Medicine
• Biochemical and Biotechnological Sciences
• Biomolecular Sciences

📌 Many programs offer 6–10 positions, including:
• Scholarships funded by the University
• Scholarships reserved for international graduates
• A few positions without a scholarship

📄 Eligibility Criteria:
• Master’s degree or equivalent (Italian or international) by 31 October 2025
• International applicants do not pay the €30 application fee
• Applications must be submitted online only through PICA portal
• Attach: research project (max 800 words), academic documents, valid ID, CV, and any supporting publications/certificates
🗣 Language Requirement: Interview includes an English test; for some programs, non-Italian candidates must also demonstrate knowledge of Italian.
📝 Selection Procedure:
• Evaluation of qualifications (max 40 points)
• Interview (max 60 points) – can be done via videoconference for international candidates
• Candidates must submit a research proposal related to the PhD program
📅 Important Dates:
• Application deadline: 16 July 2025, 2:00 PM (Italian time)
• Interview calendars published by 29 July 2025
• Final ranking published: 24 October 2025
• Enrolment: 27–31 October 2025
💶 Scholarship Benefits:
• Annual stipend: €16,243.00 (paid monthly)
• 50% top-up for research stays abroad (6–12 months)
• Additional research budget (min. 10–20% of annual stipend)
• One-off allowance (up to €5,000) for international or out-of-region Italian students
📚 PhD students must:
• Commit full-time to training and research
• Attend courses, seminars, and research activities
• Submit a final thesis with original contributions
• May engage in limited teaching/tutoring activities
